toronto:
the people are sadder. one streetcar driver thanked me for smiling at him and that made me sad too.
many many more homeless people than I'm used to in ottawa and they are less 'bothersome' because they are much more used to being completely ignored, I imagine.
I finally understand the whole TTC 'transfer' thing and it makes NO sense. now I walk down to the subway station after work so it looks like I just got off the subway and I don't have to pay to get home. WHAT. plus a ticket is like $1.50. a dollar and a half to go anywhere all day on bus, streetcar or subway. it's crazy, but I like it.
ALSO I work in the coolest place I've ever been. it's been my favourite 3-block radius since I was 15. now I work next to my favourite comic book shop, make up store and clothes places. it's consumer heaven and hell for me, because I've put myself on a tight budget for the summer.
also in less time than it used to take me to walk to the food court from sears, I can have like anything I want to eat for less money than I'm used to spending. seriously, anything, derived from any part of the world. or just nice coffee. or candy. there's a candy store.
so those are a few disjointed thoughts I have about the city I live in right now. go back to what you were doing.
