FROM THEDA: I'm back and I ain't day-ed (aka reviews and update)

Mar 29, 2008 17:00

It's been a while since I posted, or it feels like it, anyway. There's some reviews up for After Anna and I thought I'd throw the links your way and give an update on what I'm up to. Reviews are by their nature spoilerish (this the lovely Dorine at eXtasy reminds me), so bearing that in mind, here we go -

Theda Black did an excellent job of showing how love can blind one to the faults of that loved one, and Tyler and Will were definitely blind. She did an excellent job of portraying a man that is barely hanging onto the edge of sanity and how such profound grief can affect everyone around the person and suck them in to the downward spiral.

But kudos to Theda Black to have chosen a not easy way to deal and end this one.

Literary Nymphs Reviews by Woodland Nymph

There are some very powerful emotional scenes between Tyler and Will and the sex scenes are very well written.

I'd like to say (it's the Oscars and I'm giving an acceptance speech;) that I'm happy with the reviews and grateful for the even-handed response, and really thankful for the reviewers who took the time and care to post about the story.

Now, as for my writing update. I'd like to say I have more done than I do. However, that still doesn't mean I'm not quite a ways along in my follow-up for After Anna. The thing is, I'd never intended a sequel, but after eXtasy accepted it for publication, the boys hung around in my mind and refused to LEAVE. Little bastards, they always want to have sex, too. Anyway. Soon after I put a note up on the website that I planned a sequel, but just recently got going on it. I seem to have a stuttering sort of writer's block going on, based on some recent goings on in my personal life and in other STUFF, so ... but anyway, that's getting better, I think.

Because I AM NOT A WIMP! Did you hear that, Dorine? heh.
