Christ on a bike, I can't believe I haven't updated for 2 months. That's what happens when that rare thing, warm weather happens and I change into a happy outdoor person. But, FEAR NOT! I bring you the ultimate update through the medium of interpretive dance photography! 34 photographs to be precise, of varying quality and with rambling commentary. Yay!
15th May:
I went to London to get a tour of my brother's new workplace, which was incredibly awesome, but as I think I mentioned before, security is a wee bit on the high side at this place, so no photos of the building. So here's some pics of our post-visit wander instead.
I wonder what needed the forensic examination? :S
21st May:
Birthday dins at Teri-Aki!
Sushi set - Salmon, Tuna, Squid, Inari and Unagi.
Saki in the coolest bottle ever. It nearly got taken home... *shifty*
Kare Udon.
Now, I promised this man that I would wait until the following Friday to watch the Lost finale, which amazingly I managed! I stayed spoiler-free for 5 whole days. I even put this on my board at work...
...which resulted in many academics scratching their heads in confusion and a couple gleefully teasing me the whole week. Pfft, I hate tech-savvy academics. :/
While I was still digesting said televisual fiesta on the Saturday, we had a bit of a shock. Charlie (the adopted cat), who I'd long since suspected had been a stray for longer that thought, decided it was time to move in. I think because he was well again, and that the weather had gotten better, it was time go. He just wandered off, and that was it. Nic was really upset and insisted we go door-to-door and put up flyers. A nice family got in contact and told us they'd been feeding him about 5 days after he went missing, but then he disappeared from there too. Basically, we adopted the Littlest Hobo. BUT...
We decided to get a cat "from scratch" (lols XD). So here's Tommy, our new addition. He's currently asleep on my feet!
25th June:
For our monthly night out with the work peeps, we checked out the new
Jamie's Italian restaurant, which has opened up in the Guildhall. It was very good, if a tad expensive.
Cucumber Martini.
Selection of breads.
Marinaded Sardines. I could live on these. XD
Contender for the biggest burger I've ever eaten.
Truffle oil and parmesan chips.
Yowser. The bill for 9 people. O_o
2nd July:
We had our annual dinner at Jesus College ( a thank-you to the staff who work on exams, and a select couple of academics of our choosing). This is the Inner Court of the college.
In the Prioress' Room.
Cured organic salmon with asparagus and dill dressing.
Roast loin of Norfolk lame with caper sauce and veggies.
Chocolate pot, summer berries and vanilla ice cream.
Amazing cheese and biscuits.
Fruit plate (and far, far too much vino!)
16th July:
Last evening after work I went with a friend to check out the new Japanese place in Cambridge,
Japas Bento Box. It was REALLY good. Better than Teri-Aki. I'd drag Hedge here in a second and he wouldn't want to leave. XD We ordered loads of stuff to share and totally pigged out. :D
Salmon and Mackerel nigiri and Sea Bass sashimi.
Tori Karaage.
Miso Soup.
King Prawn Tempura.
Spicy Tuna and Salmon & Avocado Maki.
So there you go. That's pretty much what I've been up to lately. Yes, eating. XD
