[public] facts about me
Hi, new people! (walknoline, lodessa, fresleyforever, and enter_namehere; did I miss anyone?)
I made a post with twenty random facts about me in November but since a) at least half of it isn't true anymore and b) there have been several new people added to my flist since then I decided to do a new one. Some of the facts are recycled from that list, but for the most part it's new stuff.
Nineteen Random Facts About Me
1. I like lists. Many of my posts consist of lists. Even if it's just a random collection of whatever comes to my mind, I will turn it into a list.
2. Comments are always wonderful, so long as they're grammatically sound and say something remotely intelligent.
3. I used to be addicted to regular cherry Chapstick-brand chapstick. Then I became allergic to it. Now I'm addicted to cool cherry Soft Lips.
4. I'm also addicted to Coca-Cola. No one should bother speaking to me in the morning before I've had my Coke.
5. I'm a sophomore at community college. I graduate in the spring with my associate's degree and then I'll transfer to a local four-year school to get my Bachelor's in English.
6. Harry Potter, Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, Angel, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are all fandoms of mine that my parents don't know about. They're also completely unaware of the existence of this journal, although I think they'd be pretty stupid not to have any inclination that I was at least hiding something from them.
7. I have a strange fondness for suicidal writers. Sylvia Plath, Virginia Woolf, and Anne Sexton all committed suicide and I love their works. (If you haven't read The Bell Jar yet, go do so.)
8. There's a mouse inside my house (yes, I know it rhymes). It showed up in my bedroom over the summer, and then it started popping up sporadically downstairs. Now we have collections of traps scattered all over the house and we still haven't caught the damn thing.
9. My current favorite fictitious characters are Chief Petty Officer Galen Tyrol (Battlestar Galactica), Addison Montgomery-Shepherd (Grey’s Anatomy), the Ninth Doctor (Doctor Who), the entire cast of Freaks and Geeks, and Chloe O’Brian (24).
10. I work as a library page. For ten hours a week I push around a (heavy) cart and put away books. This has led to me going apoplectic in other libraries when things are not in precise order.
11. My current school semester is rather simple. I’m taking Human Biology (which I like for the most part except when we have pig dissection), Film Appreciation (we watch a movie one week and then discuss it the next; hardly a challenge), U.S. History II (which I love more than anything in the world because my professor is the greatest professor ever), and Topics in Literature (in which no one takes the professor seriously and we really dislike showing up).
12. I am more liable to post when I have lots of things to do and I am trying to avoid it. The more free time I have the less likely to post.
13. I obsess over things in spurts. One minute I will be talking about nothing but Veronica Mars, the next it’s Ewan McGregor. Sometimes I come back to something, sometimes I don’t.
14. Joss Whedon rules all.
15. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is the greatest book ever. I have recommended it to several people and they all enjoyed it.
16. I have bright blue sneakers with zippered pockets. This really has nothing to do with anything in my livejournal but I decided to mention anyway.
17. My iPod shuffle is named Cally Sheppard. Guess the fandoms I was into when I got it!
18. Despite having a job and earning money on a regular basis I am still hesitant to buy things. I blame it on my mother’s frugalness.
19. My journal is mostly public, although there is usually at least one friends only post a week, and it never anything exciting, just real life angst.
