So the Cardinals are the new world champions. This brings up several things:
1) My Irish Ren professor (a Tigers fan) is not going to be happy and I dearly hope that he wasn't grading papers tonight.
2) There is no baseball until April. Just over five months, people, I don't know how I'll survive.
3) At least a National League team won.
4) At least they got to win at home.
5) Bud Selig really should just shut up.
6) At least Kenny Rogers didn't win. (I'm still bitter about him losing for the Mets seven years ago. Do not doubt my ability to hold a grudge.)
7) There's nothing like winning the World Series to bring out the slashiness of baseball. I never took David Eckstein as the type.
8) I wish I knew the Cardinals better and could identify which one just said "We fucking won!" to a teammate.
9) It is always so adorable to see the players with their kids.
10) My favorite part of tonight's game was watching Jered Weaver cheer on his older brother. Watching him shout "One more!" when Wainwright was coming into the game was just. . . I don't know. I have a thing for solid familial relationships.
11) David Eckstein is the MVP and he gets a car and I'm sure his family is just oh so proud. Whichever sibling gets his kidney will be getting one that's won the World Series twice, and that's got to be an impressive kidney.
I need to get some baseball fans on my flist. Y'all probably don't appreciate any of this.
