London Wrap-Up

Nov 18, 2008 19:08

I spent the evening with Karen to talk writing, Supernatural, ice cream etc, and we took ourselves to the Leicester Square Odeon to see Quantum of Solace.

One-sentence summary of the film du Bond: A sharp-dressing spy mends his broken heart by punching environmental terrorists repeatedly in the face.

Good times.

Now, if you'll recall, the journey started in Tiverton, Town Most Likely to Be Setting For Horror Flick Involving Skin Jumpers:

Stacia and I got lost on the Dartmoor, where there were teeny tiny terrifying roads, and sheep:

I proved how Gawth I am by visiting an abandoned cemetery:

And a creepy churchyard, though not in that order:

We almost fell down a cliff trying to see Tintagel, and laughed at a bunch of English hippies in the bargain:

And once again, I bother the dead while doing research for the second Black London book:

Let's not forget the Murder One signing, which was great fun, largely thanks to the fact that people actually showed up and I wasn't sitting alone in the dark, crying a single tear of regret:

Great trip. Looking forward to the next. I leave you with one of the first shots I took in 2007, when I was out wandering and ran into the Tower of London and Tower Bridge (not literally, thank heavens, because like many old English things, it's made out of rocks):

Right, I'm packed and checked in for my flight, and now I think it's time to sleep. Later!
