I still don’t really have my thoughts together after I watched it, but I will say this: the full-frontal knife fight was everything I hoped it could be, and more.

So anyway, I’m still slogging through revisions, although I’ve finally reached the point where Octavia quits bitching and does something (she’s so whiny, for a heroine written by me, but she’s also a teenager, and I know I whined a whole hell of a lot when I was her age.)

And they say that good things come in threes, to which I reply “Maybe in your sparkly world, sister.”  But seriously…Thursday and Friday, bang-bang-bang.  Three good things in a row, all of them financial.  I can breathe a little easier in the next few months.  Now I’m watching the sky for falling pianos, because I’m a pragmatic little Virgo.

Lastly, this will destroy my credibility forever, but I have to share: my crazy friend Sara played a song for me entitled ‘Gunpowder and Lead’ by Miranda Lambert, about taking revenge on her abusive ex-boyfriend.  Yes, it’s country.  Yes, I know that I make sort of a point of being too cool for twangy white-people music (I prefer angry white-people music), but this song is awesome.  (And come on, people.  We all know I’m about as cool as the original edition of D&D.)

Favorite line: His fist is big/but my gun’s bigger/He’ll find out when I pull the trigger.

That’s serious, y’all.

iron & ice, movies, revision hell
