After learning that there was a lion cub in a cage at Macomb Mall in front of Kohl's I was incredibly angry. People can pay $20 and get their picture with it. Ridiculous. It is only a few weeks old and it is being kept in a cage at a mall during the busiest time of the year. I called mall management to find out more and she tried to tell me that it is a rescue organization trying to raise money. She gave me the website, which is www.premieranimalattractions.com. Doesn't sound like a rescue organization, does it? It isn't. I called them and they "rescue" a few animals from people who kept them as pets, but they also get exotic animals from breeders for entertainment purposes. So in other words, mall management was trying to cover up what this really is. I called back and told the management that neither I nor my family would be shopping at Macomb Mall as long as this was what they promoted.
I am also going to be writing a letter to the mall. I really encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. Here is the mall management phone number. #586-293-7800.
I'm going to try to make a petition tonight. Not sure if it is illegal to take it to the mall or not.
Please help. You really can make a difference in this.
