A lovely day for a stroll

You know that thing that happens when you're reading and you get on a bus and you're still reading and then the book ends and you look up and you're on a street you've never seen before on a bus you didn't want and isn't it great that it's a fine day for a walk? Certainly didn't happen to me today.

In other news there has been some very fine reading going on recently.

The Talisman Ring by Georgette Heyer which was funny but not quite as funny as other books I have grown to love. A ridiculously romantic young french woman falls for an equally silly young man who is a fugitive from justice - is there an evil uncle? Of course there is!

The Mulberry Tree by Jude Deveraux which was pure trash and shall be given to the first person to express the mildest of interest in it. Mystery Romance with bizarre dialogue.

The Mermaid of Penperro by Lisa Cash which was also utter trash but has a great cover picture and a rather amusing scene with some misappropriated pornograpy.

April Lady by Georgette Heyer which was charming, sweet, delightful and soppy.

Pistols for Two by Georgette Heyer which turned out to be short stories all of which are GREAT.

The Ivory And the Horn by Charles de Lint which was thought provoking, beautiful and mysterious.
