FANFIC ACU PreStory: What I've Been Looking For (Part 1 of 3)

Title: "What I've Been Looking For" (Part 1 of 3) aka "Visions"
Pairing: DBSK: YooSu,
Characters: Junho, (Potentially More Characters To Come)
Writer: black_prophet (Midsummer_Slave)
Genre: SciFi Fantasy AU (Fluff, Angst/Drama, Etc)
Rating: PG13
Warning: This is an AU, somewhat futuristic with SciFi and Fantasy themes/elements. Planned two-shot involving Junsu, how he came to Haven, and what happened before he and Yoochun met Jaejoong (thus beginning Angels In Chains). It is a little bit "time jumpy" and I have no beta, so, be warned?
A/N: This fic is for thesilveramazon because reasons. Also, anyone who wanted more ACU!Su, because DUH.
Disclaimer: THIS IS A FANFICTION, as in I do not own the Main Characters. All Technicians, Doctors, and most Executives/Billionaires/Random Assholes are created and named by me. I cannot say (as I am not a Doctor and have not examined the bloodwork/ lineage etc of these men) that DBSK is 100% descended from Angels. I can tell you that it is no damn wonder we call them the Rising Gods of the East. I can also tell you I doubt Angels look/sing/dance better than these guys. I will also express my opinion their bodies are most likely from Heaven, Jaejoong is a FallenAngel in my eyes, etc. I can't even prove Angels exist. This is just for entertainment purposes.

Junsu was six years old when he got his first, comprehensive vision. He knows, somewhere in the back of his mind and firmly locked in his angelline memory, that there were always flickers, flashes, fragments before that… Shards he couldn’t quite piece together, dreams he didn’t quite remember, faces and places he didn’t know and the occasional spike of déjà vu. But six, six was when he first really saw and he this time knew.
He saw a young boy -Korean just like him, and probably not much older?- clinging to an older woman, begging her… He saw tears, on the boy’s face and the face of another -his brother?- as the woman insisted… Saw them both flinch as an older gentleman appeared and caught their wrists, dragging them away.
And he knew, knew, that for now they were being moved too far away for him to meet, even by accident. For now, he had missed is chance to meet that one… But it wouldn’t be his only chance, and that was the only thing that kept him from bursting into tears himself. It wasn’t over, and they would get another chance. It would take years -more years than he could even begin to understand- but eventually they would have another chance.
Junho -older by mere moments but infinitely wiser- toddled over to him with a sympathetic sound, wrapping around his back. Leaning back into the press of warmth and the presence of his twin, Junsu relaxed.
Approvingly, Junho hummed, and rubbed his cheek against his brother’s shoulder. “ ‘s okay.” He had soothed. “Wha‘ever it is… ‘s okay.”
“Is not.” Junsu muttered.
Junho scoffed, his tone matter-of-fact in the way that only an older brother could manage. “Course it is. I know it is.”
“How do you know?”
Junho grinned. “Maybe it’s my gift?”
Junsu doesn’t even bother to hide his scoff. “It isn’t.”
“Brat.” Junsu shoves him, the contact full-bodied but affectionate, and smiles. “Su-ah… ‘s okay.”
Junsu grumbled, burrowing into the warmth his twin offered, and sighed. “Is not… But it will be.”

Junsu is fourteen, wrapped in misery and his own wings, when his twin flops down beside him. “Go away.”
“Nope.” Junho gleefully denies him, running a hand over the bright-copper wings with their subtle cream-colored barring. He unerringly finds a knot in the muscles and rubs gently, making a soothing sound in his throat. “Tell me.”
“Nope.” Junsu snaps back weakly, trying to pull his wings closer to his body and ignoring the urge to melt and sob. “I don’t want to talk about it. I never ever want to talk about it, especially not with you.”
At that Junho makes a pained noise, and Junsu flinches in his little cocoon of warm feathers and heartache. The shush-sigh of Junho’s own wings heralds the rush of additional warmth as his twin presses closer to him, wrapping familiar cream-colored wings with their bright-copper barring around both of them as well as he can. “Su-ah.”
At that press of feathers -and his brother’s broken tone- Junsu relents, retracing his wing enough that his twin can tuck into his body and brace chin against Junsu’s shoulder as Su turns his face into Junho’s. He makes a soothing whimper of sound when Junho’s grip fastens around his wrist. “I’m sorry, hyung… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, Ho-ah.”
“What’s wrong?” Junho demands, rubbing their faces together. “You’re miserable Su-ah, and it hurts… It hurts so much.”
Junsu sighed. “This is what you get for taking after mother.”
“Could you have stood it if I tried to steal your limelight?” Junho grouches. “I think one of us being able to actually See is enough for the whole of the family. Nevermind that when it is bad enough, I can Feel it anyway… How is that even fair? We’re not even a predominantly Fifth-Line family!”
“Eomma looked destroyed the first day you woke us all screaming because of what I saw…” Junsu admits, his heart clenching.
“Stop that, you’re making it worse.” Junho snaps, twisting his arm under Junsu’s to rest his palm reassuringly over his brother’s heart. “Shhh, Su-ah. No more old sadness. Tell me about this current ache, let me help.”
Junsu wilts. “My soulmate…”
“What about him?” Junho perks. “Is he ok? Seeing someone else? I can go beat the girl up, I won’t even feel bad.”
Junsu’s lips twitch weakly at his twin’s humor, shaking his head. “No… Well, maybe? He’s moving, further away again… He might find a girl.”
Junho crowds closer, his grip tightening and voice soft. “Where is he going?”
Junsu draws a deep breath, feeling the distant wrap cold claws around his heart and squeeze. “America.”
***

“I can’t believe you’re going to let them catch you.” Junho gripes, pacing back and forth like a tiger in a cage. He hates being trapped in this tiny apartment, but hates it even more that his brother has gotten it into his impossibly thick head to lead the Haven away by letting himself be captured.
“I don’t hear you coming up with any ideas.” Junsu returns mildly, leaning against the bar and looking more relaxed than he has in ages.
Junho stops his pacing, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at his twin. “You saw this, so you’re going to walk right up them and go ‘here I am, clap me in irons!’… Anything I can think of would be better! Walking into traffic would be better!”
Junsu frowns at him. “Don’t be overly dramatic, Ho-ah, it isn’t a good luck for you.”
“Fatalism isn’t attractive on us either!” Junho barks. “And I know that because we’re twins and trust me, you aren’t very handsome right now.”
“I’ll need stitches to mend my broken heart after words like that.” Junsu snips, and he smirks when Junho throws his arms in the air. “Dramatics, Ho-ah, really.”
“I hate you.” The older twin snarls, slapping his hands down on the counter. “I hate this. Why Su-ah? In the name of all the Arch Angels, why do you have to do this?”
“Because I Saw it, Junho.”
“God I almost want to scratch your eyes out when you say stuff like that.” Junho growls again.
“You sound like a girl when you say stuff like that.” Junsu parrots.
“Child.”
“Jerk.”
“Brat.”
“Drama Queen.”
Junho makes a frustrated sound and scrubs his hands through his short hair until it sticks up in all directions. But this time, when he speaks his voice is low and calm. “Why, Su?”
Junsu frowns at his twin, arms crossed over his chest, and finally admits the secret that has been fluttering around in his chest for days. “Because it’s the only way I’ll get to see him.”
And just like that, Junho folds.

Next Chapter: "What I've Been Looking For (2 of 3)"
This is for all the people who -like me- wanted MORE ACU JUNSU. Because Su-ah became (unintentionally?) AWESOME in this verse, and was (unintentionally) ignored. So, consider this the fix-it fic for Su-ah's minor role in ACU! This starts with young Su-ah and will cover a bit of time inbetween then and Haven in a couple quick jumps... And with this short two shot? tri shot? idk we'll be "up to" Angels In Chains timeframe when it ends. Thanks for reading, I love you!
Edit: P.S. JUNHO x JUNSU WINGS ARE MY CURRENT FAVORITE THING. OH GOD.
