Rain grinned as he slid an attractive blonde her drink, winking when she giggled and her best friend shouldered her playfully. “You enjoy that, Beautiful.”
“I’m sure I will.” She flirted back, and her friend dissolved into giggles.
With a satisfied smile he swaggered back down the bar, bowing his head so one of his regulars could whisper their order in his ear. A moment later and with a hefty tip in his pocket, he backed away and began spinning bottles and glasses, arranging four different drinks in record time. He arranged them on a tray and slid them toward a waiter, gesturing him after the retreating red head. “Sasha’s table, and don’t screw it up.”
Shi rolled his eyes, flipped Rain the bird for good measure, and disappeared into the crowd. “You’re an asshole!”
“Still prettier than you!” Rain called after him in a cheerful sing-song voice, though his good mood faded when he turned and caught a glimpse of a familiar figure lurking in the shadow of a far-off column.
His heart leapt into his throat and lodged itself there. Se7en.
It had been two years, and still when he realized who it was, he couldn’t bring himself to turn away. Dark eyes caught and held Rain’s gaze for a long moment, darted to the door, and then back. Freewill flooding back, Rain shook his head slightly, and received a glare for his trouble. He sighed, glanced down at his watch, and then cast a reluctant look back to the summoning Kin, trying to convey how disinterested he was in whatever needed to be said.
Se7en leveled a glare of sheer stubbornness, mutely demanding, and jerked his head sharply at the exit. He would clearly not take no for an answer.
With a sigh, Rain glanced at his watch, and then reached over to tap his coworker’s shoulder. “Hey Jess?”
“Sup Sugar?” The perfectly ordinary woman beamed at him, running a hand through her bubblegum-pink hair. “Whatcha need?”
“I skipped my first two breaks because it was crazy… Can I get a fifteen in before I drop?”
“You’re pulling a double shift and skipping breaks?” She hissed in outrage and socked him in the shoulder hard enough to make him wince for real. “Ah huh, and don’t you forget I’ve been taking a kickboxing class. I see you back in here in under a half hour, and you’ll regret it JiHoon. Understand?”
“I get it, I get it.” He muttered, holding is hands up in surrender. “Thirty minutes. I’m taking a bottle of water and my jacket, don’t hurt me.”
“Ass.” She muttered, accepting his apologetic kiss to the top of her head. “Go on now.”

Rain shrugged into his leather jacket and slipped out the backdoor of the bar, drifting into a convenient stretch of shadow half-way down the quiet alley. A moment later Se7en materialized beneath the nearest street-light, head turning this way and that as he sought out the other Kin. Rain considered letting him work at it, but decided there was no point.
“I’m here.” He called, stepping forward just enough to catch Se7’s attention, and then drifting back into shadow and planting his back against the wall. “Make it quick.”
“Hello to you too.” Se7en muttered in a somewhat-sulky tone as he strode down the alley, picking a bit of wall beneath the streetlight and pulling a cigarette and lighter from his pocket. “Still mad at me?”
Rain shrugged, sipping at his water rather than remarking, and then replying with a question of his own. With his best fake smile, he stretched and made an attempt at casualty. “Long time no see, and isn’t that wonderful. What brings you here?”
“Judging by your warm welcome, does it really matter why I’m here?” Se7en countered as he Rain’s tense shoulders, and then glanced away. “Do you really care, or do you want me to just say what it is so you can say no and bail?”
“You hunted me down and dragged me out of work when I was busy and more than happy to stay that way.” Rain snapped. “And now you’re just standing there like you’re admiring me. I thought an attempt at conversation was appropriate, figured maybe it would get things rolling.”
“Is that why you’re standing in the dark, so I can’t see you?” He inhaled and the cigarette caught, then tucked the lighter out of sight as a plume of smoke was released into the night air.
“You should remember how I look, what does it matter?” Rain returned, and he couldn’t help but sound tired.
“With you? It always matters.”
“Like I believe that for a minute.”
Se7en stepped forward, dark eyes piercing and his smile challenging. “Why wouldn’t you?”
Rain narrowed his eyes in a warning glare and stepped back out of reach. “I learned my lesson the last time.”

The first of my more recent "Remixes" but certainly not the last. This one is because there are two very different, very fantastic ladies apparently on the same ACU drugs. And I like to give my darlings what they want, so, here's an appetizer while I try to get the main courses wrangled! Give me some love, darlings. Someone tell me how much potential there is for AWESOMESAUCE based on what is "hinted" in this fic. Oh my god I have rabid Bi7 feelz now...
