Summary: Taemin has worked hard to maintain his grades, learn how to sing and dance, as well as participate in clubs and earn the attention of the officials of Shinhwa Boarding School. If you get in there, they ensure you make it anywhere. Super elite, Taemin can't help but aim for the stars. He's in, and that's the first step... But what about the other students? And what if they want more from Taemin than he's planned on giving? Can a star of the school make a book-bound underclassman pay attention to something besides studying? And when he does, what is their next move?

The Admissions building was a towering construction of brick, set just to the fore of the campus beyond a sprawling parking lot. Swallowing audibly, Taemin set out toward it with just a bag over his shoulder, the rest of his belongings still in the SUV that had come to pick him up from his home. Two of the school’s staff were in the process of unloading the vehicle now, sending him on ahead to speak to those in the Office.
A smiling secretary bowed in greeting when the young man entered, gesturing he meet her at a counter to one side of the room. “Lee Taemin?”
“Ah, yes, hello.” He murmured shyly, bowing again as he reached the counter. “I’m here to make sure my admission paperwork has cleared?”
“Yes.” She smiled again, nodding as she slid a paper toward him. “This is our housing policy, outlining improper behavior that will result in expulsion. I need you to read and sign that, and then there are a few other forms we will take care of before I have someone take you to your assigned room.”
A series of papers followed. Detailing attendance and expected grade averages, a slip explaining behavior and dress-code for any and all field trips, another for the day-to-day dress-code and what was acceptable ‘casual’ dress, the proper way to handle disputes between students, how to acquire a tutor if one’s grades slipped near or below the ‘acceptable minimum’.
Taemin was grateful to see that most of these were being put into a file for him to review once he got to his room, because his head was spinning so fast he doubted he would remember any of it.
It was no small relief when the Secretary handed him the file with a soft laugh. “There, all done for now. Here’s a map of the school, and your room has already been marked on it. I’ll get you your key, but your roommate should be there. We tend to pair the younger students with Upperclassmen so they can teach you the ropes. You should be fine.”
“U-upperclassmen?” Taemin muttered, staring at the map as the woman escorted him out the back door of the building and pointed him toward the dorms.
“You got one of the best, you’ll be fine here Taemin-ah.” She grinned. “Get going now, and you should get there just as the rest of your things are unloaded.”

Taemin glanced this way and that as he moved through the hallways and various buildings, studying the map and picking out helpful placards on doors and walls. He found the proper building in short order and entered, taking careful note as he passed a few offices -including the nurse’s office- before finding himself facing a hallway of dorm rooms.
Four doors down he hesitated, eying the star on his map before glancing back to it. ‘Room 502, this is it…’

“It can’t last forever.” Minho shrugged, sliding yet another of his books into place on the shelf. Jonghyun -one of his best friends and currently sprawled across his bed- made a disapproving noise. “What? It can’t, and you knew that.”
“But where are we going to go now that you have a roommate too?” Jonghyun whined. “No more peace and quiet…”
“As if there’s ever peace and quiet where you are.” Minho rolled his eyes.
Jonghyun grinned. “There is when Key’s around.”
“That’s because you’re too busy trying to breathe him in to make any other noise.” Minho rolled his eyes. “Forgive me if I’m less than impressed.”
“Awww come on Min-ah, don’t say it like that.”
“Say it like what?” He snorted, shaking his head as he shelved the last of his books and then paced over to his bed, shoving the other male over to make room for himself. “You make quite a bit of noise when you two are making out in the slightest of shadows or corners. And you guys certainly don’t have sex quietly, Jonghyun; I’m almost glad to have a roommate since you’ll have to stick to your own room now.”
“But our neighbors complain!”
Minho rolled his eyes and elbowed his sulking friend, sarcasm strong in his tone. “I wonder why!”
“Min-ahhh!”
“Oh shut up.” Minho elbowed him again. “And get out, the kid will be here any second.”
“Don’t want me to scare the fresh meat?”
“Freshman, Jonghyun, Freshman.” Minho rolled his eyes. “Keep talking like that and I’ll tell your girlfriend you’re sniffing around for someone new.”
“Key would castrate me.” Jonghyun snorted, considering it as he sat up. “And you, for calling him my girlfriend.”
Minho remained lying down, stretching until the black t-shirt he wore climbed up his ribs. Jonghyun reached over and pinched the tanned skin, earning an annoyed sound and a slap in return. “Bastard.”
“Bitch.” Jonghyun retorted sweetly.
Minho grunted, running a hand through his softly curling black-brown mane. “Slut.”
“Don’t be jealous.” The brunette almost sang, his head snapping around at the sound of a knock. “Ooooh, there he is!”
“Jonghyun, no!” Minho hissed, sitting upright before being shoved back to the bed. “Damn it Jjong!”
“Don’t curse, your roommate may hear you!” Jonghyun crowed, bouncing toward the door. “One second!”
“Jonghyun!” Minho lunged again, but his best friend was ready for him and flung him down on the bed again. Sprawled there, he stared as Jonghyun threw the door open with a triumphant grin.
“Hi and welcome to Shinhwa Boarding School, pride of SM Company.” Jonghyun beamed. “I’m Kim Jonghyun and that’s Choi Minho.”
Taemin stared wide-eyed at the cheerful student greeting him, and then blushed at the sight of the darker one sprawled on the bed. Black hair hung nearly to his shoulders, a black t-shirt climbing up his body and flaunting toned abs, black jeans on long legs. He was gorgeous.
And terrifying.
“You’re the new kid, right?” Jonghyun laughed. “Come on, this is your room! Minho’s too, I’m just visiting.”
“W-what?” Taemin managed to stammer as Jonghyun reached out and grabbed his arm, dragging him into the room.
“That’s Minho, your roommate.”

Minho watched the shy red-head his best friend caught and dragged into the room, noting the warm-amber eyes as they fixed on his faced and then slid down his body. Remaining sprawled for another moment, he licked his lips as he straightened, smoothing his t-shirt down.
The new kid blushed scarlet, and then stared hard at the floor.
Minho smirked. Hello, Roommate.
