[There is a Ragna coming into town from the forest after an exhausting weekend of running around on a wild goose chase. And failing. As he comes into range of the town, one might catch sight of him limping around and slamming the side of his fist into a tree.]

Shit. [Punch.] Shit. [Punch.] Shit!

[Then he promptly collapses to his knee from lack of ( Read more... )

[Her normal policy is to leave large, muscled strangers alone when they are swearing and punching trees. It's just a personal preference. So, at first, moves off the streets and slightly behind a building when she sees his approach. She may want to get the groceries back to the electric icebox (refridgerator) before they get too warm, but nothing she's got there will spoil and it's certainly not worth getting into trouble.

When he collapses to his knees, though, it both catches her interest and her concern. She's not ready to approach him yet, as it will likely take another collapse for her sympathy to allow a cautious inquiry to his health. But if he carries on walking, he might notice that he's picked up a small blond stalker who fails at stealth. She's trying to keep out of sight, but she keeps peeking out at him and isn't very good at changing between cover.]

[Oh. Ragna is used to blond stalkers.

Anyway, Ragna gets that feeling that he's being stalked. Which causes him to turn his head back to check. And he sort of catches sight of Fenimore, which prompts him to continue staring. Well. More like glaring.]

Ah--! [That is not a promising expression, so she'll dart to one side until there's a building between her and him. Maybe if he can't see her, he'll forget she's there.]

[He proceeds to turn his whole body to face the direction of Fenimore now.]

What are you doing?

[He must be talking to someone else, right? ...It doesn't look like there's much in the way of other people in the direction he's facing, based on a quick glance back around the corner, and, even if there are, no one's responding to it.]

Noth--nothing! Groceries!

[Groceries. Really. Ragna wants to cross his arms, but that's way too much effort right now.]

Then why the hell are you following me?

[Well, it was true up until she did start following him. She'll make one more attempt at the innocent act. ...It probably would help if she came out from behind the building, but Ragna's power of intimidation is strong enough she can only force herself to peek around the corner.]

F-following you? What makes you think I'm following you? You must be some self-centred if you think anyone going in the same direction as you is following you. [She neglects to mention the sneaking.]

[It's about time his power of intimidation did something. It's been so useless lately.]

Then quit acting so damn suspicious about it. By hiding.

[Feeling a bit ineffective lately, Ragna? But she can't really deny that.]

I... You collapsed earlier and--anyone would wonder about something like that!

[Of course. Ragna keeps ending up on the receiving end of ass beatings.]

Well, you shouldn't. I'm fine. Get lost.

So falling to your knees is normal for you. Good to know. [She hasn't moved yet. The corner of this building has given her +4 to Courage.]

I've lived through worse than this. [He hasn't moved either. His legs have taken a liking to being still.]

[There are plenty of differences, but the stubbornness, that hair...unbeknownst to her, even the searching for the younger blond apparent-but-not-sister. It reminds her a little of Senel. She should be leaving him alone and not getting involved, but that little bit of familiarity with the first human she had accepted as a good person keeps her there.]

People who talk about being able to live through worse are never talking about much worse. There's a clinic here, and it's supposed to stop people from having to wait it out. I can even give you directions if you're lost.

[IT'S A CONSPIRACY]

Tch. I know where the clinic is. [It's his second home.] I've got better things to do than waste my damn time in bed.

The only things you are going to do instead of wasting your time in bed is falling over and wasting your time on the ground. It's your choice, but the bed is more comfortable.

I don't have the time to spend sitting like a jackass in bed.

[And with that, he attempts to make a dramatic exit by turning around and limping a few inches at a time. Yeah. Not so dramatic. It's not much of an exit either.]
