In this week's news, me, Randy, and Ian drove to Memphis last week and went to Graceland. We also went downtown and snuck into The Peabody to see the ducks. Pictures later. It takes too long to upload that shit.
Then Ian tried to set my apartment on fire. I, being at work, was unaware of this until I got home last night and found a scorched bowl of rice, ashes all over the stove, and a burnt potholder. He is now banned from the oven and I'm down one pot and an oven mitt.
It doesn't feel like this year has even existed. Like it just kind of stopped at a certain point. The only things I remember are, chronologically:
the night me, Randy, and Ian went through the rainbow car wash and listened to the Gorillaz and Gwen Stefani
driving to New York/Jersey
Jason coming over at 2 a.m. all the time to watch shitty horror movies
Independance Day
going to Rhode Island/Boston/NY, and Marissa's mother's grotesquely obese cat
Watching Home Movies/spend the night parties every night for the past month.
Realizations:
Without most of my friends, I'd be bored out of my fucking mind and probably go insane
Allowing anyone to attempt to date you in Birmingham really isn't worth it.
Doing something completely insane that, in the back of their minds, no one actually believes you did is totally worth it
Friends are special
Love never dies
Food is good; make sure you can afford it
and time is irrelevant and so are year end reviews.
