What exactly is it that makes particular pieces of music eerie, or frightening? Just something I was thumbing through my head. I really like music that gives me a heightened feeling of terror, but I have little idea how such music is composed or what is involved. Mind you, this is a nebulous question that might really demand a good deal of music theory to understand, but can anyone help me understand?
Secondly, i need some spooky books to read over the next couple of weeks. I'm still looking for ideas for the Nosgoth/Ravenloft Campaign i'm running. Didn't get much response last time, but maybe no one has any ideas. Pcs have been joined by a half-elven ranger/wizard and brutally (although not fatally) mauled by a group of worgs and dire wolves after being trailed for about 2 hours through the misty forests leading eastwards to Termagent. The group is currently looking for the cause of a myst that has stopped supply lines for the past 2 months and from which a number of zombified pilgims have begun to issue. How should I brutalize the pcs next week? Please email suggestions to elliott.jones@gmail.com, as one of the pcs reads this and i'd like her to remain... as ignorant and blind as possible against the coming storm...
