Ooh~ ^.^ I understand the whole "Snape and Harry? Don't be ridiculous" thing going on-- I feel the same way. But you've managed to put them together in a non-traditional way here that's not so much of a pairing as it is a... shared understanding, is the phrase I think I want. It's interesting, to see it, and I think I like what you've done. XD The beginning was a little ambiguous/confusing, but once I got into the story I went "aha!" I'm glad Snape survived-- I always thought that was something he should have prepared for, because he's not stupid after all. And it's intriguing to have broken Harry, not by war but by peace. War heroes need to adapt in peacetime or fade away into the background, and I can't see Harry taking the fading away without a fight, even though it's one he's sure to lose. There's also a poetic justice (wait, no... that's not it... oh, whatever) in Snape being the one to start healing a broken Harry, when he's been protecting our boy all along.
