This is a rec list I've been working on for a while, but I think I've finally gotten to the point I feel happy posting it. It will continue to be added to, and I'll probably update it every Sunday for those who are interested. If anyone has any recommendations, feel free to let me know!

Tennis holds a special place in my heart (fond childhood memories), and this is a lovely setting for a wonderful Janto romance that includes all of the important characters from Torchwood/Doctor Who.

I’ve never encountered a Janto fic with this level of dreamy beauty. Jerbearthompson is my go-to writer for that feel, and this story encapsulates the style perfectly. The little bits of Ianto/Lisa just add to the deliciously angsty undertone, and the relationships are so utterly perfect, and-well. Just read it.

There's so much emotion and feeling backed into the lovingly rich imagery, and the way Jack and Ianto interact is perfect.

Why you should read this NOW: This is the Torchwood fic to end all Torchwood fics. I’ve read it, uh, twelve times now? And it continues to get better with every reread. Really, there's just so much to love about it, and soera has the best grasp on Ianto and Jack that I've ever encountered. All the extra plots in this story are just icing on the cake. If you only read one Torchwood story in your life, make it this one.

Why you should read this NOW: I adore Tosh to an unhealthy degree, and I love the GBG episode. Misswinterhill’s take on the aftermath is wonderfully fluffy and sweet, and the dynamics she creates between the characters is perfect.

Why you should read this NOW: As a series rewrite, this is gorgeous. And the angst, it burns! No, seriously, whenever I want angst this is where I go. It covers pre-Everything Changes all the way through Children of Earth, and the author handles it marvelously. You want to reach in and smack all the characters at points (or at least I do), but you're just that invested.

Suzie and Ianto and Tosh and Owen are all so vivid, but at the same time out of focus, because we only see what Jack sees. The repeating themes throughout the story make it just that much better. These are the back-stories I wish were canon.

Any fic that includes more than just the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh is like crack to me, and this is no exception. Wee!Time-Lord!Ianto is also adorably serious.

NOW,” because that’s how good everything soera writes is. But this one holds a special place in my heart. From-the-past!Ianto is still so deliciously himself, and Jack is lovely and quirky. There's a lot of drama, but nothing is overdone, and the pace is careful and soft but never boring.

I adore stories with alternate first meetings, and this is just…epic. The Ninth Doctor and Rose are also perfect here, and Ianto makes DW canon just that much better.

This story bashes Jack and Gwen both, but that’s a small part of the overall plot. And really, what's not to love about Companion!Ianto with an added side of Ianto/Ten?

There's a lot of drama, but nothing is overdone, and the pace is careful and soft but never boring.

This story bashes Jack and Gwen both, but that’s a small part of the overall plot. And really, what's not to love about Companion!Ianto with an added side of Ianto/Ten?
