Beauty in the eyes of the beholder

Ville continued to watch the rain pour outside through the huge windows, the fire crackling in the only fireplace of the office. The king turned his head to the letter that replied to one of his letters he sent out to all the realms. Stating that nobody should step near The Realm, unless it has direct permission from the king of the Realm. Smiling when he saw that another kingdom had agreed to not stepping foot near it, talking about the beauty of the place should be preserved and that the king should heal from his injuries to such a irresponsible attack.

“couldn’t say so better myself...” Ville mumbled, placing the letter in one of his drawers and sighing loudly. Turning his gaze back out to the poor weather outside.

“I swear the gods of the Realm is cursing me.” Ville said, standing up and walking over to his bookcase, he pulled out a book and frowned when something fell out.

Kneeling down and picking it up, he noticed it was a photo, eyes widening when he saw it was of him and Bam, both fast asleep with smiles on their faces. The red satin sheets came up to their waists, their upper torso bathed in the sun of morning. He turned the photo over and read the small note, smiling and thankful he had some friends from The Realm.

One good memory to pin some of your hopes on.

Final.

Bam woke up and smiled for the first time, feeling no pain at all in his stomach, he sat up and his grin widened, no pain whatsoever... except for the pain in his heart. Bam sighed loudly, looking outside and seeing the sunny day for once in so many years. But he wasn’t completely happy, he needed Ville but his stubbornness held what the new Vampire king against him.

“glad to see your awake.” Bam smiled and looked at Fusion, the dragon settled down next to the bed, his tail opening the door and letting the warmth of the day enter.

“I heard Ville has been helping our problems out.” Bam’s head whizzed to look at Fusion and he frowned.

“why would that asshole want to help us?”

“language, Bam, you’re lucky I’m not Final, actually I’m glad Final is not here, he would scold me for scolding you.” Bam laughed.

“that made no sense jackass.”

“Bam watch it.”

“sorry.” Fusion chuckled and stood up, nudging the king with his nose and turning to outside.

“I think you should bring Ville back to the castle.” Bams hands tensed and he sighed.

“why?”

“the gods told me to trust him, and I’m glad I did, he saved this Realm.” Fusion turned his head to the king, noticing that he hadn’t really changed much ever since he was christened a king; he was still the playful prince everyone fussed over and loved.

“he saved you.”

“no, he didn’t.”

“yes he did Bam, if he did not bring his army to defend this Realm till you had recovered; you would have been an idiot and gone out to fight again. You would probably be dead by now.” Bam turned his head away from the dragon, hating the fact that the dragon was right.

“at least be friends with his country, they can help us out again. For the good of the Realm.” Bam sighed and reluctantly nodded. He didn’t really want to see Ville...

Or did he?
