...Commander Hawke...

He'd been hearing them for a few weeks now.

Choppy radio messages, full of static and interruption, but still clear enough to understand. And ponder. Ponder for a very, very long time. It had become sort of a custom for him to sit at his kitchen table, a mug of coffee in hand, just...listening to this strange radio frequency he'd found by accident.

...If you're out there...

Black Hole was gone. He'd helped the Allied Nations decimate them. His tanks, his aircraft, his technology, his soldiers.

...If you're alive...

No. Not his. That army and everything that came with it had been Von Bolt's. An army of faceless, nameless mooks that Hawke had led for what seemed like no time at all between his disposal of Sturm and the Bolt Guard's coup.

...If you're listening...

Very few things elicited an emotional response from Hawke, but that was one of them. To have his nation ripped from his grasp and then have it turn on him...leaving him no choice but to join the Allied Nations and destroy everything he'd worked for once and for all...

...We are Black Hole, Commander Hawke...

Kindle's fault, of course. The Bolt Guard had taken Black Hole and warped it, made it something it shouldn't have been. It was for the best that the army was gone, that he "died".

...The Black Hole loyal to you...

It was a trap, of course. It had to be. He knew at the very least, the Bolt Guard was alive somewhere. Perhaps they were sending these broadcasts over random frequencies, in the off-chance they would find him and lure him out. The question then, was why.

...We are here and waiting...

On the other hand, maybe it wasn't a trap. Maybe there were remnants of the Black Hole Army, his remnants, lying in wait for leadership and direction. It was unlikely, but not impossible. The more he listened to the mysterious broadcasts, the more he began to feel like it was worth looking into.

...Should you share the same goals we do...

The messages always dissolved into coordinates after that.

Lash couldn't know, of course. If he told her that he was leaving to answer some mysterious radio broadcast, she'd have the same knee-jerk reaction he did. Trap. However, Hawke was fully prepared to face whatever he found at the given location, trap or otherwise. Even though his instincts told him that this was probably a very bad idea, he needed to do this. He'd been at this school for over a year with minimal progress and he wasn't going to get much further without an actual army, even if all he found was a ragtag group of mercenaries. He needed to take this chance.

...To rebuild our nation...
