i am torn. do i start my own magazine or try and write for the metro? my mom has been writing on and off for them for a few months and knows the new editor really well, so i think i would have a shot if i wanted to submit something for print

i finally came up with an interesting concept for a magazine. i had been thinking of a novel way of organizing articles, rather than having the old "arts" section, and "current events" section etc. so i decided the publication will only have three sections:
past: articles on cool stuff from back in the day
present: articles about stuff going on right now
future: articles about stuff that's happening/coming out a while from now
if people want to write articles that overlap some, that's fine. it's just a magazine, not the fucking bible. but that's the idea i had and i hope it doesn't get stolen off the internet.
was also trying to think of a cool name other than something cheesy like "timeline"

And, I'd submit articles too. I may not be a prolific writer, but it's more a lack of motivation than ability. Of course, you are the editor, it would be your call on what made it in.
Anyhow, I think you should go for it. And I share the sentiment about moms who try to get something stated, lots of talk, little action. Got one that does the same on a regular basis. I think you've got it in you to get it done.
As for printing, talk to Angille, see if he can't score you a deal on printing at Commie Printers.
