full of despair today. don't know if i need to go into it. nothing serious. probably just post-graduation blah.
news doesn't help. fucking news. fucking government and the people who support it.
i can't believe the house voted to cut funds to public broadcasting. who the fuck cares about public broadcasting? PBS could show video of Bush fucking a goat and people would still support him. do the republicans really see it as a threat? NPR? Masterpiece Theater? fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. god forbid there should be a channel funded by our tax dollars as opposed to advertising.
did anyone else see the show on discovery channel where people are voting for the greatest american in history? you can vote by phone like on american idol, and they're in the final round, with the top five vote-getters squaring off: George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., and Ronald Reagan.
for the show they had groups of people arguing why their candidate was the best, with a moderator and three celebrity commentators. let me tell you who the three commentators were:
-Dennis Miller, you know, the really annoying guy who used to be a football commentator. he's kind of like Bill Maher, if Bill Maher were a right wing asshole.
-Ann Coulter, the craziest fucking right-wing fanatic to hit mainstream media.
This is the crazy shit she writes, and millions of people read. I think my view of her is how Republicans see Michael Moore, except Ann Coulter isn't clever enough to hire a pimp to go to D.C. and try and recruit Congressmen. on the show she said Iran-Contra was a great thing that reagan did. i'm not kidding.
-Randy Jackson, one of the judges from American Idol. Trust me, between Miller and Coulter he was the voice of reason and sanity.
I don't know if that's a very balanced panel to give advice on who the greatest american is. i mean, i know, it's tv, they want entertaining people. but this was a prime-time national discussion on questions like if the greatest american could be a slave owner, or if ronald reagan's policies are still hurting us today. these are serious issues. if you don't want to look like you don't really care about serious issues, you should get some serious people to comment on who the greatest fucking american is. which is pretty arbitrary anyway, but whatever. gahhhhhh....
well, looks like i'm all outta steam. see ya later
