I'm still on a musicals-kick, but have temporarily moved onto Sondheim's Company. I saw it on Friday - a student production - and it was amazing... I really very much wished I had been doing it instead of Cat.

Someone to hold you too close,
Someone to hurt you too deep,
Someone to sit in your chair,
To ruin your sleep.

Someone to need you too much,
Someone to know you too well,
Someone to pull you up short
And put you through hell.

Someone you have to let in,
Someone whose feelings you spare,
Someone who, like it or not,
Will want you to share
A little, a lot.

The second half of the song we get to the "its not perfect but do it anyway" part, which is dramatically sound but speaks less to me. Because that's pretty much exactly why I'm not getting married, and I'm always surprised when someone sees something the way I see it. So anyway, another soundtrack on my wishlist.

This is opening night. It's all very alarming. Set was collected, constructed and painted. Props purchased and set out. Lights rigged, focussed and plotted. (EC class attended, with conspicuous absence of knowledge). Sounds recorded and tested. Tech and dress happpened in actor/director schedule rather than techies, so bearing no relation to the agreed schedule, logic, or indeed the laws of physics. But we open tonight anyway. Send positive thoughts.

Oh - did everyone who thinks they should have got an AU Ficathon assignment actually get one? I worry so.
