Watch Laura shamelessly fangirl Starbucks... The important thing, you understand, is not that the cups are now a festive red (lovely though that is). The important thing is that they have GINGERBREAD LATTE inside them. And Cranberry and Orange Muffins beside them. But mostly the Gingerbread Latte. Oh how I have longed for their return...
Also - Oxford thinks it's Christmas. This was a problem before, because we hadn't had Halloween yet, but today it's cool. It's bitterly cold, the leaves are falling (they may still think it's autumn) and the light shines cold and beautiful off everything. I'm much more fond of winter than any other season. Partially because of Christmas, but I think it's more about the dark, and the fairy-lights, and the odd low sunlight. *sighs*
Can you tell I'm in a (slightly) better mood today? The week of death, which had three essays in it, ended yesterday. With a high 2.1 in the Ethics essay I wrote in 4 hours, and a "this was much better" from cute North Carolina DPhil tutor. And my EC essay was apparently better too. Plus I had a really interesting metaethics lecture this morning. (Though a less interesting ECJ one) So this is a happier Laura. It'll be gone by tonight, but I'll enjoy my coffee-high while it lasts.
(Except that I went to sleep last night instead of nano-ing, so now I have many, many words to write. But I have Gingerbread Latte to sustain me, so what could go wrong?)
