More updates for me. Because doing my work in the computer room would just be silly.

I'm borrowing raedbard's numbered format for today, because I have quite a lot of rambling to do. Pick your own cut.

Okay, questions first and I'll be back for the rest - stupid *work*

- On Congresspeople: I think, though don't quote me, that they are required to maintain a residence in their home (elected) state, but I can't imagine that people who ordinarily live in, I don't know, Texas or Washington state or whatever (or Alaska. Does Alaska have Representatives?) *don't* have some manner of residence in D.C. for long floor votes and so on. But, I don't know. (I will ask the Flist, because it's useful for me as well - what with Andy and Sam.)

- Does Toby still own the house? In my canon, he owns Jefferson Wyler's house. But, I'm not sure how realistic that is. I mean, it's a big house and owning property in the US is not as common as it is here. I imagine he was counting on Andy's income to keep the ownership of the house viable. In Season 7 canon, he's got an apartment (which looks nice - tons of twin-art *g*) that Josh and CJ come to see him in. But, I don't know, I tend to disregard canon. But then in S5 when he offers the house to Andy and she says she's already got somewhere, "Well, I don't want it."

- Ages: are inconsistent, as far as I can see. For Toby, I tend to go with the birthdate in 'Holy Night' (23rd December, 1954. Which is more like RS's actual age) and then work everyone else's out from his. I can't, I *can't* see Sam as any older than 35. And I can't see Josh as much older than that. But there is at least one way to get a better estimate: they both had to go to college, ordinarily and to Law School (is that a five year thing in the States?) So 17 plus 4 years undergrad and 5 law equals 26 or thereabouts? And on top of that Josh has had time to rise high in the Democratic party and Sam to be an almost-partner at Gage Whitney. So. Yes, this is me rambling now. As for CJ, hmmm. Maybe five to ten years Toby's junior? /speculation.

- How far can I depart from current US norms in treatment of homosexuality? You can use the tradition of idealism within the canon to your advantage here, I think, without departing from reality too much. I can't see the position on gays having shifting *that* much, but I think there would be *some* shift in that amount of time. (I'm just squeeful that about the storyline this involves. Mmmm.)

- How much twin!love can a fic that's meant to be a shippy one hold?
An infinite amount - all are powerless in the face of Huck&Molly love. *g* (I really love Sam as a person-who-is-there-for-the-twins. I really really do. Hence the most recent sap that I sent you. I do think he's be a great surrogate daddy.)

Right. More later. :)

*sighs* He's just going to have to keep the house anyway. I need angst, and the house is required :-)

And as for the Congressmen... what about their staff? How much Washington time do we think they spend? And do they get weekends off? This fic hates me, I know that now...

And thank you for the age thoughts. I can't see Sam as much older than 35 either, as though I am aware he needs to age through the show and then through the fic, I just can't make myself believe it....

I know exactly how you feel! I said in my initial comment that he's probably 32 in Season 1, but my personal canon says he's 31 and he kinda stays in that nebulous early-30s age group pretty much forever. I don't care how little sense it makes! *g* (Thankfully RL helps out a lot with that whole picture in the attic thing he's got going.)
