Studio 60 on the Sunset StripRating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Jordan McDeere/Danny Tripp
Characters: Jordan McDeere, Danny Tripp, Jack Rudolph, Matt Albie
Summary: In a lot of ways, Jordan's first week back at NBS is similar to her very first week there. She is the person who counts the ways that it might be different.
AN: For
Pitry. With thanks to
everywherestars for reading over and reassuring me that it was okay to post!
This was interesting! I came into the fic not shipping anything particularly strongly, but rewatched (and then rewatched again) to write something which I knew would be Jordan/Danny, and ended up shipping it. But mostly just falling even more in love with Jordan (and Jack, but who doesn't love Jack?). Studio 60 was a canon which had frustrated me in ways, and I had a lot of fun taking the parts I loved and poking gently at the parts I didn't. Also writing Sorkin dialogue is something I had missed.

A Sudden Wild Magic - Diana Wynne JonesRating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Tod (Sudden Wild Magic), Philo (Sudden Wild Magic), Josh (Sudden Wild Magic)
Notes: Mentions of canonical unwanted sexual advances, and canonical threats of sexual assault.
Summary: What Philo, Tod and Josh did before, and after, Zillah Green came to Arth.
AN: For
Signe (oxoniensis) I read A Sudden Wild Magic because I was working my way through Diana Wynne Jones books I hadn't read already, and I had seen that
oxoniensis had requested this one for Yuletide a few times, so I was intrigued. And then it came up for pinch hit, I got super-excited and snagged it, and then immediately panicked. A) I've never written a main assignment for someone I knew and b) I've never written Diana Wynne Jones before. Oh, and c) there is a lot about the world of this book which we are given intriguing hints about and no answers. We only get two of the Other Peoples, and we know there are five, for one thing. My poor father, bless him, had to listen to a long burst of thinking-out-loud about how centaurs sleep (and came to the same conclusion I did, so thank you Daddy). Once I realised what the story was actually about, and where it needed to be, it worked a lot better. But I was still pretty worried until archive opening time, so thank you
oxoniensis for commenting right away! And thanks for requesting the book, so I got to read it and have fun writing about it!
