AO3 hit meme redux

Apr 19, 2012 19:38

The AO3 hit meme of last year has come back around again, and because I find my AO3 stats endlessly interesting, I am doing it again.

Anyway, My Top 10 Fics at AO3, based on hit-count (as of April 2012)
1) Apologies for Large Feet [Sherlock BBC; Sherlock/John UST-ish] Hits: 24585
2) Light Our Own Fires [Sherlock BBC; Sherlock/John; asexual/demisexual-Sherlock] Hits: 22990
3) Minds Like Ours Dream Up [Sherlock BBC; Sherlock/John; post-Reichenbach] Hits: 19964
4) Best Practices in Workplace Relationships [The Social Network; Mark/Eduardo; AU] Hits: 19478
5) Bugfixes in the Redesign [The Social Network; Mark/Eduardo] Hits: 14824
6) Start as You Mean to Go On [The Avengers movieverse; Tony/Steve] Hits: 14745
7) Trust Graded on a Curve [Suits; Mike/Harvey] Hits: 13650
8) Delays in Communicating [The Social Network; Mark/Eduardo] Hits: 9768
9) And Begin Again Tomorrow [The Avengers movieverse; Steve/Tony-ish] Hits: 8793
10) A Mile Away and Wearing Your Shoes [White Collar; Neal/Peter/El; bodyswap] Hits: 7368

Observations:
- The top two fics are the same as last year.
- Six fics total carried across from last year's list to this. New entries are Minds Like Ours Dream Up, Start as You Mean to Go On, Trust Graded on a Curve, and And Begin Again Tomorrow. Unsurprisingly, those are also all fics written in that intervening year.
- This list includes 4 of my 10 longest fics
- Sherlock fic continues to do it for readers. I was actually a little surprised that Minds Like Ours Dream Up wasn't top, just because I've had a stronger response to it than to anything else I've ever written. I suppose it's possible some of the people who read it went on to click on one of the other Sherlock fics of mine, so the numbers for those two stayed higher overall.
- People are apparently still reading The Social Network fic. The difference between the hits on Best Practices last year and where it is now would put it on this list (just). I knew that one was popular, but I'm surprised the other two didn't drop off.
- People are reading Avengers fic. That one is not a surprise. Steve/Tony being more popular than anything else is also not a surprise. I choose a few of my other Avengers fics over And Begin Again Tomorrow, but what are you going to do?
- El is now the only female representative in a list full of cis White guys. Sadface. I've written a similar number of full-length woman-centric pieces these past twelve months as the twelve before, but obviously the popular slash pairings are the ones getting all the hits, so the list is almost all boys. Maybe I need to diversify some more.

Also I've bought my Avengers tickets. Next Thursday night! Excited ♥
