Why is it not enough to say 'I'm awesome, hire me?'

Would it be illegal to offer fics in exchange for a CV and covering letter? Is that asking for payment? I'm not saying that the illegality would necessarily be a hinderance.

Applying for jobs is my least favourite thing. Of anything. I don't even know how to format a CV. Most of the jobs I'd be looking at have application forms, so this is strange. And pays £10k more than I'm on. So it would be nice if I could at least get past the applying stage.

I had two days off, I was supposed to apply for at least two jobs and finish this short story. I have done none of these things. And it's the end of day 2. So naturally I'm watching Ace of Cakes reruns. And wondering why 'has occasionally written Sherlock fic that quite a few people liked' is not acceptable as an entry in the skills column. It's that or 'regularly logs in to check work email from home because God knows what mess they're getting into without me'. Which shows an amount of dedication, surely? Sigh.

To end on a better note: Porn Battle is soon! Prompts open from Sunday. Who's planning their prompts already? I know I am! So far it's mostly Avengers and Sherlock though, so you guys should think of some other things and be ready to prompt them. Crossovers are my favourite :)
