Lord knows, it would be the first time
My dad wonders why, if I want a new job, I don't apply for some. It's hard to explain to him that it's because one rejection (today, for example, which wasn't even for a job, it was for a career scheme) sends me into a tailspin. To the point where I can't apply for anything else because I know that they will reject me too. Doesn't matter that I know it takes however many applications to get one yes, or how much competition I know there is. Today is not fun.
So I'm going to (or planning, anyway) to see Despicable Me after work. (And yes, Scroll, I am also planning on seeing Easy A, thank you for reminding me that it was coming out - haven't seen any ads here!) Also want to see Red as Helen Mirren has a machine gun and also Mary Louise Parker is there. Might get a curry on the way home and then write 6 pages of script and then submit something and stop doom-spiralling. Just no job applications for a while.
Sigh.
