Here be: music solicitations, writers block, and musings on Idol (but no spoilers)

I think, somehow, I will not make pagecount on Script Frenzy today. Since it's 23:55 and I have no pages. But 30 overall, which is otherwise on target. Not writing lgbtfest either, which is at about 3000, so 7000 less than I want. (It won't make 10000 really, but I keep ( Read more... )

Okay, so I just discovered that I do actually have one of The Clash's albums on my iPod. Hmmm. Anyway, now I am in love with the song 'Career Opportunities' and AI really would be the career opportunity of a lifetime for Ryan.

And there is also a song called 'Capital Radio' which is, of course, about radio. I don't think it's a particularly good song though. But it got me thinking about radio songs and you've somehow got me connecting Ryan more strongly to radio than television so then I started thinking about him singing 'Video Killed the Radio Star' and when I looked that up on Wikipedia to find the artist it said "is a song by the British synthpop group The Buggles, released in 1979. It celebrates the golden days of radio."

I'm also sort of enamored of the classic Clash song 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' because if Ryan sang it all the judges could be like, "you should stay!", or, well, Simon would roll his eyes and say it grudgingly, but still. And also it's one of the songs you can pick in Rock Band so I was imagining Ryan practicing for the show by playing Rock Band at the mansion with some of the other contestants and doing the vocal part on Expert until he scored above 90%.

Okay, I'm seriously going to stop with the crack now.
