Happy Birthday Kerri Walsh!!!
So today the defending gold medalists took on the Belgium team in the first round of single elimination. They managed to pull it out after a very close first set, but the headline of this story is that one of the Belgium players was 6' 4". 6' 4"? Are you fucking kidding me? She put her arms above hear head and was like 2 ft above the net without jumping. And Kerri kept trying to hit these knuckle shots over her hands and I'm sitting on my couch thinking "FUCKING SPIKE THE BALL WHY DON'T You?" I mean yeah she's tall, but you hit it down and hard enough let's see how her height helps her when the ball is almost at her ankles.
But yay! It would have really sucked to lose your shot at back-to-back gold medals on your birthday.
