My first week in college

Jun 21, 2004 15:24

Well, my first week in college has been everything I expected and then some. My professors are these old white ladies who smoke and I'm pretty sure lived in trailer parks most of their lives. But hey as long as they pass me, I don't care. College right now is costing me an arm and a leg and I think a few toes.My tuition this semester was 996 bucks and then my books cost me close to 150 bucks, that's more than I spend in a year, but I getting everything paid with financial aid, ( it finally paid off to be a poor mexican.)

I've met some pretty interesting people, like this one guy talks and laughs about everything, and isn't afraid to speak his mind, but his cool. I've also met this girl who wears clothes that about 3 sizes too small, but hey that's her deal. So anyway enough about the people, my classes are really keeping me busy with a ton of homework, I haven't had a decent night'sleep in about a week, oh well that's college life for you.I haven't been able to talk or to see Adrienne since last Sat., I feel bad leaving her behind but I wasn't going to wait for her to decide to go to UTEP.Well it's time for me to go do more homework. So I leave you with this quote "Nothing average ever stood as a monument to progress. When progress is looking for a partner it doesn't turn to those who believe they are only average. It turns instead to those who are forever searching and striving to become the best they possibly can. If we seek the average level we cannot hope to achieve a high level of success. Our only hope is to avoid being a failure."
