Graduated!
My grandparents came up from Maryland.
Even though they drove all that way, and even though it was supposed to be my day, the whole day was spent talking about geese being stolen by raccoons or travelling to hawaii or what my dad wanted to be when he grew up or talking about guns.
I hardly ever got to talk. About anything.
Two people told me they didn't think I would graduate.
Only one person told me they were proud. My boyfriend.
You can give me a trip to cancun, a $300 gift card, $200 in cash, and as much jewelry as you want - I'm still not going to like you. It was my graduation day and you still couldn't just concentrate on me. You still couldn't just tell me you were proud of me.
