Hey now.

After several months, I have finally re-discovered the fact that LiveJournal exists. Frankly, Im surprised that I still remember the password. Its the only password that doesn't have any resemblance to my normal passwords.

Happenings since last entry...
Im not entirely sure if I did mention this, but I did get hired at Best Buy as a merchandiser. After about four months of hard work, I was called in, and tragically, laid off. On my last day, I was told that I was seasonal, Although when I was hired, I was told I was a permanent employee. I was hired September 9th 2005, and they said that all employee's hired after September 1st were seasonal. However... I was supposed to be hired on October 25th, the date of my 3rd interview, but the General Manager was out for several days because of a sickness in his family. So tell me, who's fault was it that I was hired on the 9th? I am a little leery of the reasoning used, but I enjoyed the job, the people, and the general atmosphere, not to mention the employee discount. So when buisness picks up again sometime during March/April, and the big trucks start coming in, I'm going to ask for my job back.

But current happenings are these:
I applied online at Kohls, knowing that they were opening a new store in gateway, and were already hiring. I didn't even fill out an application, I just clicked the button, and immediately scheduled for an interview. So I went in for my interview on February 13th at the Valley River Inn. My interview totally caught me off guard. Even though that day in economics, we had done mock interviews, basically just practicing for the Job Fair. (which was the next day)
The reason it caught me off guard was the fact that they were doing GROUP interviews. They took 12 people into a room, sat them in a semicircle, and two interviewers asked questions. One question at a time which everybody answered aloud one by one until we had completed the interview.

In short, I made a good impression, and was hired. Yesterday was orientation. We basically just filled out paperwork and watched standard recruitment videos. The store is looking good, even though most of the shelves are not complete yet, and there's no merchandise.
My department which I will be working in is called Hardlines Recovery. Basically, we work on the second floor where all the "Hardlines" or Linens, sheets, shoes, pots, pans, vaccum cleaners etc. What we will be doing is "Recovering" the area, or putting out of place merchandise (Such as a pair of shoes left abandoned by somebody that changed their mind) back in their proper places, and helping customers with whatever questions they may have.

I absolutely FEAR the weeks before and during Grand Opening. Stocking the shelves and putting up signage is going to be a pain, and customers in the rush of grand opening will be rushed, short, and grumpy, at least I think. I hope this isnt the case.

Although I complain, I'm happy to be working again, my savings were draining fast with all the stuff I needed to pay for... such as my car.

My car had a headgasket blow, and is being totally rebuilt. I'm spending a few weekends at my mechanic's house, using the jackhammer to help lay the foundation for the new house he will be building into the side of a hill. Its hard, back-breaking work, with little to no food, and no breaks. The Jackhammer is brutal on arms and ears. But It is all worth it, considering my mechanic is doing all the labor for free. So I only have to pay for parts.

DnD is being pushed aside more and more lately, not really too important. Im a little fed up with the current, somewhat incompetant group. Maybe I'll find another soon. (yes, I know the comment is coming... so here... I know, Im THE super-duper-uber-band-DnD playing geek/nerd.)

Other than that, I can't really think of anything else to write... So I'll update again when I can.
