I just watched a movie called Equilibrium. It reminded me a lot of the book 1984. It was good, there was lots of awesome fight scenes too. The main theme was opressing the society from feeling by making them take these drugs. And they got rid of art, music, literrature, everything that can invoke feelings.
But imagine living in a world where you couldn't feel, you couldn't love, you had no emotions. What's the point of living if you can't feel things. And appreciate the beauty of life. Laugh and cry....The point of the ppl in the movie suppresing feelings was to prevent war and murder. But the people weren't truely free. The question I ask you is this...is it really worth giving up the chance to feel emotion for peace? I don't think so...
