I have not posted in hella days, so now seemed like the right time. Life...it has been interesting. As of right now, I am doing pretty well in college. I still love the people at college, and Santa Cruz is not boring yet. If I had a car or some other mode of transportation, I would be fantastic. Personalwise...do you guys really want me to be EMO? Although, parts of my life are past EMO, they are just tragic. Details I will not go into.
My Thanksgiving was interesting...I decided that I like the women of the Schwab family, they are good ladies. Even Joe is getting better, college matured him a bit, which made dinner tolerable at least. My Grandma came up to us and said "you guys want vodka?" That was an icebreaker at least, it gave Joe and I something to talk about. Mainly, because it was the weirdest question coming from my Grandmother. We had two shots each, and then it lost its appeal.
The Saturday night following Thanksgiving was interesting as well, once again, I will not go into detail. Allow me to just say that I saw things, things and actions that will take me long, hard years to get out of my head. Oddly enough, I missed college and my hallmates. Whether I like it or not, Santa Cruz has become my home, for better or for worse. And since my 606 home is being sold anyways, there really was no other choice except for Santa Cruz to become my home. But it really does feel like the place where I belong. I think I am making some genuine friends here. I only really miss a few people from my old life. Matt, Maggie, Gio, Lauren C, Mr.V, and my pets, and those are the people I really miss seeing every day.
I miss camp too, the people and the life. I miss the horses too, Dressage really is not my cup of tea. Dressage is like "look at what I can make my horse do" which I guess is the sort of overall English mentality. Western is more like "look what my horse and I can accomplish together." Even though Dressage is better for the overall conditioning of the horse, Western is a bit more about the rider and the horse working together to accomplish a task, whereas English is more about training a horse into complete submission to its master so that the master always controls the horse. I like to think that Western riders ride well because they have earned the respect of the horse, and that is why the horse does what the rider wants, whereas in English if the horse does not obey, it is whipped or yanked on. Basically, as soon as I can figure out how to get my Western fix down here, I will be quitting the Dressage team and the whole English thing. I will finish out the year, but I cannot handle much else.
Speaking of horses, I am still not sure about what my camp situation is. I am still awaiting the call of Lake Placid, but if they do not pull through, I will be going back to Sugar Pine. I love Sugar Pine, but I really need to go somewhere else to expand my experience, among other things.
