new years really is one of my favorite holidays. theres something about a clean slate, a new beginning that i really enjoy. but of course, before i can truly look forward to the new year, i have too take a look back on the year that was. 2005, not too bad...positives: of the top of my head the first thing that i can think of is my 20th birthday, my best one yet, and i kinda doubt my 21st will be as fun or memorable...finally closing a chapter in regards to a very well known former relationship of mine, yeah thats a pretty big highlight...meeting some new people, and while i know most of them wont be around long, and even though some have already fallen off, there were some good times, with new people this year...figuring out what i wanted to do with my life, its nice to have some kind of direction...i guess i had a decent summer, i dunno if this is truly such a huge positive as it is a "not-negative", i mean i did manage to make a lil money after things were looking really bleak at the beginning, AND i took my first coaching course...getting my niece into soccer. she actually said something tonight that caused a huge smile on my face, as my dad and i were watchin a soccer game, my dad asks her if she wanted to go in the bedroom and watch cartoons, she said that she would rather watch the game so she could "learn", and when she said that, i couldnt be happier...helping my mom move into her own apartment at the beginning of the year, and having the help of all the guys i kno i can really depend on...having a good spring semester and an even better fall semester of junior year...oh yeahhh, splish splash was good times and six flags with alex and nat (LOL)...hmmm, that seems to be all i can think of at the moment, but the point is 2005 was a pretty good yr, i cant really complain.
sooooo whats ahead in 2006? i've already got 3 big reasons to be excited for 06, and they just maybe enough to last me the whole yr. as a matter of fact, i think the last time i was this excited for the new year was going into 2003, and 03 was a pretty good yr. This time around i have the big 3 to look forward to: my 21st birthday, my adventure of the year...my trip to Africa, and the world cup. i dont think i'm really looking forward to my 21st birthday itself as much as i'm looking forward to being 21. i cannot even express how excited i am to go to africa, and the world cup is going to occupy my life from june to july and i cant wait for it to happen.
oh but the question remains, what is my new years resolution...well i guess i have a couple:
1) to become a stronger person spiritually. to pray more and actively work towards a closer relationship with God. and going along with this is to become a person who is stronger in will, and able to do the things i need to do.
2) to hustle harder, hustle smarter, and to keep on pushin in order to become more adult in the way i handle my responsibilities and my life.
3) to finally learn from my lessons and not make the same mistakes over and over again.
with all that said...God Bless yall, have a happy and safe new year!!!
