In case you haven't noticed, I've been neglecting my blog for a while (9 days).  I blame school.  This quarter has been a rapist that has ravaged my free time.  To prove this, I haven't finished reading a book in 3 weeks.  Last year I read about 1.2 books a week (give or take) and I've been working on a 300-page book for the last 3 weeks.  It makes me so sad.  I will admit that the book I've been barely reading for the past 3 weeks is On The Road which, in case you've never read it, has some major dry spots.

Anyway, school is taking over my life yet again, but I won't get into that because no one wants to hear about it (including me).

3 months after placing my order, I finally received my credit card reward order, and guess what it is!  BOOKS!  Things that I ordered for 41 rewards points:
1. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
2. World War Z by Max Brooks
3. The Areas Of My Expertise by John Hodgman
4. When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris
Booyah! (if I could only finish OTR sometime this year!)

Thursday has yet again taken over my life.  I almost threw them out with the garbage after listening to A City By The Light Divided because it was utterly horrible.  However, a kid that I work with told me their ep split (with Envy) was great and a step in a different direction, so I went out on a limb and purchased Common Existence, and let me tell you, I LOVE IT.  The album has no single song that stands out and wows me ("For the Workforce, Drowning," "Standing on the Edge of Summer"), but the whole album flows ridiculously well.  The whole thing is dark and wonderful.  Geoff's screams are perfect and have gained power (check out the scream in the first minute of "Last Call"), the guitars are creepy and fit well with the vocal spread.  The only thing lacking are lyrics.  I think most of them are weak, but I've never been one to judge a band by it's lyrics (save for rap ensembles), so I can easily overlook them.

As for now, I need to sleep.  I work in the morning, and I need to (from here on out) dedicate my time to finishing a few papers that are due next week.  SATURDAY!
