Idiotic Christian Beliefs: God Is Pro-Life Edition

One of the more asinine things that christian "pro-lifers" claim is that their deity is pro-life and, as such, holds human life as eminently sacred, especially unborn human life.  As a former christian who, unlike the vast majority of self-identified christians, has actually read the bible in its entirety (an enlightening, as well as vomit-inducing ( Read more... )

I would love to live my life in peace, free from the interference of self-righteous fundamentalist christians, but they, unfortunately, won't leave the rest of us alone. Remember, it was you who came to an obviously, unapologetically pro-choice blog and challenged me to a scriptural debate.

Whether I believe in the existence of this or any god is irrelevant. You do. You claim that your god is just, benevolent, and loving. You've provided flimsy biblical evidence and faulty logical deduction to back this assertion, while I have provided extensive biblical and logical evidence for my assertion that the christian deity is not only NOT pro-life, but is a petulant, sadistic, misogynistic psychopath. I have questioned the actions of your god utilizing fairly universal, though decidedly modern, standards of moral behavior, as well as from a feminist perspective. I have also questioned the actions of your god based on his own standards. Why should any deity be exempt from its own standards? Wouldn't that be hypocritical? Loving, conscientious parents model the behavior they want their children to emulate, so why shouldn't we expect this of a deity who claims to be our "Heavenly Father"?

You haven't addressed even half my points and questions, both explicit and implied, for which I cited many biblical passages, yet you are demanding that I answer all the new questions you pose. Your demand is contrary to standard debate etiquette, but I have decided to humor you in my next reply.
