This past year has brought many lessons to light, those I feel are integral to this pivotal time in my life. I feel a sudden urgency to act and incorporate these things into my daily perception, weaving them in so that they become seamless truths that strengthen my reality and the ideas/hopes/dreams/choices that it inspires.
1. Gratitude. I am lucky to live in a world which allows me choice in career, religion, sexuality and social/personal politics. It seems the most dibilitating challenge is that of choice and accountability for how we spend our time and who we are...being inaudated with choices we so often remain choiceless, waiting for someone to choose for us. We've all seen what happens when we allow others to choose....life of mediocrity apathetically tends to numbing any inspiration and will to simply choose the unique path of greatness.
2. Theory of Entitlement: the amount of angry energy we pour into our expectations for our lives is oddly enough, greater than any amount of effort we pour into the purest form of ourselves that actually tells us what it is we truly want. Instead, we expect things for retribution of past struggles, hurt, pain, etc. We feel we are entitled because we simply "are"...when in reality, that falicy is the exact reason we aren't receiving...we rarely "are"...but live how we "were" or "will be".
3. Havingness: The amount of joy and personal/spiritual prosperity we have is governed by our own willingness and ability to accept. Here's to honoring ourselves and making decisions that allow us to be actively present in our lives, gathering the bits of ourselves that have been strewn into the regret or nostalgia of the past and the anxiety and overplanned future that impedes our actual "being" and chains us to the anchoring contracts that "have been" or sad and strident plans of what we expect "to be" (usually lacking any serious support from what it is we truly even want).
In the spirit of choice, havingness, gratitude and movement....I begin again today.
