missing work people
A few weeks ago we had a new guy start at work. On his second day he came with us to lunch, mumbled something and disappeared. We waited for him for a little while before we returned to work, without the new guy. We apologised to our boss for losing him, and as we laughing he turned up. It turned out he said he was going to visit a friend. This very quickly became normal. He would come with us to lunch and would occasionally make his own way back to work, we would get back joking about losing him and he would turn up at the end of lunch.
Two weeks ago we went to lunch, he disappeared. We waited for a few minutes and figured he was making his own way back. The normal jokes were made,but this time at the end of lunch he didn't return. We'd actually lost the new guy. For the next two days we were wondering what had happened. How the hell did we lose someone. He just didn't turn back up. Yes we did look in the freezer at work just tobe on the safe side.
He called the boss two days later to say he was sick and had gone to see a doctor. He would be in the next day. He has been doing this now for the past two weeks. Everyday he calls the boss to say something is wrong and he will be in the next day. Apparently he will really be in today. He may not have a job anymore but I thinkthey want to give that to him as his surprise.
