Well don't I suck?

First of all, congratulations to Sam80853 for her two year Canuckiversary. Here's to many more :)

Secondly, I completely missed Paul's birthday showing that I do truly suck at fandom. This was a big birthday as well, and I wasn't even there to pop out of his birthday cake. So happy belated birthday Paul (and Martha, come to think of it, whose ( Read more... )

dragonflymuse, Willie Nelson, and, oh, all right, Stephen Harper all share Paul's birthday. Harper and Paul were actually born on the same day. Hmmm.

Ah so Harper is going to let go of Canada do you think? ;-)

That 'horoscope' was only written with Paul in mind in my view.
I mean this versus this? Hardly the same kind of person here. Snigger.

Nah. I think Canada is going to let go of Harper.

Hardly the same kind of person here.

Is that like saying he's not the PM, he just plays one on TV?

Also, this series has shot giant holes in my long-held "I hate pictures from photoshoots" worldview.

1.Nah. I think Canada is going to let go of Harper.

If only G&M would. They need to be weened, desperately.

2.He just plays an unintentionally Harper-esque one on TV. And would still make an awesome Minister of Culture.

3. I agree with that sentiment. I want to lick the computer screen.

1. I haven't read the actual stats, but CBC seems to think that the Liberals are moving in on Harper, since they got a new leader (I like the old one better, but who asked me anyway?).

2. Yes, but what party?

3. Unsanitary as heck. But the shoot puts the Photoshopped Sharp magazine one to shame, and that wasn't even a bad airbrush job. It just isn't necessary, is all.

1. Me too - but of course the Liberals are moving in on Harper, that's what they're job is. Thing is, I'm not sure the rest of Canada agrees just yet.

2. Monster Raving Loony Party (a real one in the UK).

3. Yes, but it's my screen and I'll lick if I want to. And I hated those Sharp pics - it tried making him look like DS-era again, but failed on many levels.

1. I think Stephane Dion is much more open/honest than Ignatieff, who is kinda...glossy? And I think Canada might be gaining, if Canada at all = CBC majority opinion.

2. Rhode Island has a party called the Cool Moose Party.

3. I didn't mind them for what they were, but these are so, so much better. Sharp seems to me a bit ageist, which sucks for people of a certain age. Like, um. Me, for instance. :/

1. Ignatieff is the Canadian equivalent of David Cameron in the UK. All mouth and no trousers, as we say.

2. Cool raving loony moose party then? Perhaps we should mention Beavers as well.

3. Ahem, yes, me too. I think that's why I disliked them so much - they eliminated wrinkles. I expect Hello Magazine to do that (wasn't expecting the Demonic make-over though) but Sharp should know better. I would have loved to have seen the untouched versions of those photos...but this was a better shoot anyway.

1. Is that like all hat, no cattle?

2. Hmm, maybe. Or, y'know, NDP some other party.

3. I don't read either magazine, but I'm thinking Hello is like People and Sharp is like Details. I think Details uses airbrushing. My actual looking at it is reserved for the rare specific article of interest, so I'm speculating, mostly. Also, who do we have to bribe to get the originals?

1. exactly like that

2. I'll stick to the Beaver party...or he'll be an independent, since he's been that all of his life one way or the other.

3. Hello is like People but tries to have a weird society section in there, and not sure about Details. Bribery = I have compromising pictures of the editor of the UoA Alumni magazine.

1. Thought so. I love that expression, despite the fact that it came from Texas. Where I've never been, and therefore should not be so quick to judge. But really, though, how can I help it? I mean, honestly. Texas.

2. If I ever move to Canada I'll probably keep saying I'm an independent, like I do now, only I'll probably vote Green or NDP every time (and IMO? The Greens and the NDP need to merge because otherwise they'll keep on not beating the Liberals).[/silly American nattering on about things about which she knows little]

3. Details Magazine. Or maybe GQ. Hmm.
