I Need To Tell You Something

Mar 02, 2009 19:43

I thought you might be home by now, so I was hoping to do it in-person.  But if you're not leaving right now, I think I'd like to tell you here. You just need to promise not to overeact.  NOTHING is wrong. Nobody is hurt.  But something unpleasant happened and I want to tell you about it.

Christ, you really know how to get my attention, don't you? Stop pussyfooting around and TELL ME. I can be there in 10-15 minutes.

I'm coming home. Unless you answer within 5 minutes.

Jesus, Brian. I can't type that fast. It's involved.

FINE. I'll tell you. Just give me a few minutes.

I really really don't want you to overreact. If what happened to me had happened to you, I bet you wouldn't even tell me. Which is NOT what I or you should do in this situation.

My next reply will relay the event. Confirm you'll stay put, because at this point I want to tell you here.

Get on with it.

By the way, I never over-react. Only emotional whiny-asses like you and Lindsay and Ted over-react. My responses are always well-considered and responsible.

It's all my own fault for skipping the diner in favor of Starbucks. Okay, that's stupid. I go to Starbucks all the time ( ... )

How fine can you be if you found it necessary to CALL THE COPS? You must have been scared.

God damn it, what is the security situation at the gallery? I should have checked that out myself. Did you install a panic button? No, I am sure you didn't think of it. I'll make the arrangements right now. Or at least, I will give that assignment to Ted.

And NO, I won't tell him why.

What the fuck MORE is there? Christ almighty, why didn't you wait till I got home to tell me this shit?

We have excellent locks. Great window bars. My concern was the art, not me. No other security ( ... )

I'm on my way. I will have plenty to say about this.

And there MUST BE a panic button inside the premises. The bastard could have stopped you from using the phone!

Probably you need to hire someone to be there with you. Not a bodyguard, just a clerical type person, maybe part time so no benefits necessary.

We will talk about this tonight. I'm leaving now.

I know you're heading home, but it was just bad luck, Brian. It could have happened to anybody and now the guy is under arrest.

Of course we can talk about it, but it's not like I did anything wrong. I wish you wouldn't get all affronted, like we were ill-prepared for my safety.
