Part 2

The good news is that I get to go on "vacation" in 2 days. I use the term vacation loosely because I'm just going to Chicago for a week. I don't really think vacation is defined by a week in the midwest at your parents house. I don't really know that I've been on a real vacation since I went to Europe. I love seeing my friends more than anything but Cleveland, Chicago and Laramie are not vacation destinations. Anyways, I'll be out of Boston and the office for a week which is stellar in and of itself. I'll be very busy while I'm home, visiting with as many people as possible and doing pre/last minute wedding things with Danielle and of course, attending not one, but 2 weddings! I have my dress for Danielle's wedding and after taking it to the tailor, it fits! Too bad the pale yellow makes me look like a sick person. Oh well. I think both weddings will be a blast (Mary's is on the 9th) no matter what I'm wearing:)
The roomies are good. Mel is leaving on Thursday night for a week in PA - she has a wedding on the 2nd and is visiting with her fam for the rest of the week. Kate is going to be in Chicago the same time I am which will be fun because some of my Chicago friends will get to meet her. She's performing at an open mic so a bunch of us are going. I went to see her perform the other week and was blown away. She's incredibly talented (she sings and plays piano) - I felt like a proud mom (weird)!
We got a new couch last week. Actually it's old but it's new to us. Mel got it for $40 and it's huge and in pretty good condition. It's pretty 1970's-esque but that only makes it more perfect for the apartment and our retro decor. It was a bitch getting it up to my apt (those of you who have visited know how narrow the stairs are) but with determination and Terry (it's always good to recruit exes to help you move big things) we got it up. We still have some rearranging to do but everyone is just excited to have a real couch, not just a futon.
