I hate stupid people

So, after an intense week of training for this RA thing (and when I mean intense... I mean INTENSE!), I'm feeling good that the residents are moving in this weekend. Finally. Anyways, my little sister calls me and is crying on the phone. I'm listening, and I just get more and more upset.

For those who don't know, my family has a pitbull terrior for a pet. Because of the type of dog he is, he is looked at with fear and all sorts of bad things.

But in all reality, he is an absolute sweetie, and really wouldn't hurt a fly! He's so gentle and loving and everything!

Anyway, so she calls me and tells me that Joe's (my dog) leash broke (something common) and he ended up going down the block where there happened to be some little kids. Now, like I said, Joe wouldn't hurt a fly. However, he does get excited, and he ended up jumping up on a little kid. That's it. Jumped.

SO! The owner (who we have had trouble with in the past...she's a bitch to put it VERY bluntly) decided to take it upon herself to parade the dog back up to our house and started yelling at my family for allowing him to do that. She said she was going to call the animal control and stormed off. Now, because Joe's a pitbull terrior, he already has a very bad reputation. Call it animal racism. So the animal patrol called us and said that the other family could potentially sue us (JUST FOR JUMPING) and if it happened again, Joe would be put down. I think if it was any other type of dog, none of this would have been such an issue...

So, because of all of this, my family made the very very very very very hard decision of bringing him back to the SPCA. It's so sad though, cause he is a Katrina Survivor, and he was just starting to really get used to us and be very happy around us. He was a very good dog. So, now instead of having a nice home and family, he goes back into the kennel at the SPCA for however long this time.

Stupid people really need to recognize the consequences of their actions.

I love you Joefes!!
