Okay kids, I'm sorry but standing outside of our school in some sort of protest for the fact that the towns screwed us over is not going to do a damn thing ( Read more... )

FIrst off, I met the new principal and he's a really nice guy, he understands what's happening and certainly is sympathetic to our cause. Secondly, I campaigned my ass off and talked to alot of people about getting this passed, and YES, I did beleive it would. ( And yes, a huge factor in it was who voted [the elderly])

I stood all day and night, sunburnt and all, holding signs supporting voting yes with our teachers and music parents. There were plenty of us that were there, NOT being lazy and standing up for what they beleive in. Who SHOULD be ashamed is all the art, music, drama, etc students that recently graduated and didn't even bother to show up to vote. I swear I was maybe one of 5 kids between 18-25 or so that voted.

The rally is a GREAT idea and I wholeheartedly support it ( and will be in attendance) No, it doesn't raise any money, hun, but if NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING OR MAKES A POINT THAT ITS BAD WE LOST ALL THESE THINGS, IT WILL NEVER BE FIXED, AND OUR MESSAGE WILL NOT BE SPREAD!!!! The point of a rally is to raise awareness! Not involve police or suspensions. Its peaceful and we're making a stand that NEEDS to be taken.

We're not wasting anyones time. Like you do anything the first day of school anyways : P I'm not sure I understand the point you make about money, teachers dont get paid extra to get kids inside, lol. There still will be kids inside to teach, anyways. If we get a permit, cops obvisouly will not have any need or right to show up. We have the right to a peaceful protest. How is standing up for what you beleive in making a fool of yourself? Honestly I was offended by that. I don't the conservative republican rhetoric that citizens should just sit idly by and not do anything about what they care about. If this vote makes you angry, you have a right and a responsibility to stand up and say ITS WRONG, AND I WANT IT CHANGED. Otherwise no one will do anything, and things will get worse.

Remember something in the original constitution allowing slavery? I suppose we should have just told the black people to take it and shut up. Oh no, don't say what you beleive, don't change a wrong vote or law, don't do anything, just sit there and take it. That's the worst message to send to people.

We all have the power to change this world. One little ripple can spread across an entire pond.

Don't blame kids your age, even though, yes, they shoudl have done more to stop it, ultimately most of them aren't 18 and therefore couldn't vote to save our schools. Even if all you guys did allt he campaigning in the world, as long as the NO side gets more votes,t hey still win. Votes matter, and it iS the people that voted's fault, because they choose the selvish answer of no, not caring about the welfare of our town.

If I've learned anything in life, its to always love, and always stand up for yourself and your right to be you! Don't let any boundaries get in your way! Just do it! Complaining about kids that are standing up for what they beleive in is going to get about as much done as you said they're going to. : P

p.s. I love you Jess, I'm sorry if this was harsh, but you should never inhibit people's will to stand up for what's right. I'm proud of every one of those kids thats participating, and I have a duty to defend them.

and bri, I am ashamed i didnt vote, cause iw as gonna but i only heard about teh override like friday, so by sun when i thought about it it was too late

but i think the protest is a good idea just to make sure they know we're there, so they think about whop these decitions r effecting. so they cant just over look the students and move on.make sure they dont just forget about it.

Just like to tell you that towns are already working to fix or help things. B-water is dumb (and yes, I happen to live here), but that doesn't mean things aren't happening. Raynham is, but they're being as dumb, I won't get into that, but your rally isn't at the best time. Waiting a bit wouldn't hurt, and more light would be shed on things.
