Today was a pretty nice day. When I woke up I had two voice mails, one was from Matt, asking what we should get dad for his birthday, and we finally got that figured out. The other was from Kim saying that she was willing to pick me up from the airport. I declined, but I'm afraid I may have been a bit more rough than was strictly necessary. I trust that she'll understand, but still worry a little that I might've hurt her feelings. Also I called Amanda, and she sounded really excited to see me, so much so that she didn't forget that we're planning to have dinner together this friday, which made me feel just super. I mean, positively special. I'd forgotten how much I liked her until I talked to her again. Granted, it's still not the same as I feel about D'Ann, but I do believe that we've just about reached that four-year mark where it's time to just throw in the towel and give up; clearly she's not interested, and she's not gonna change her mind and suddenly become interested.
I was looking for a place to stay and I suddenly got the brilliant idea to look for a Bed and Breakfast, I've never stayed in a B&B before, and I'm really tempted to do just that. In fact, the only B&Bs that I think I've ever seen are the one in Groundhog Day (Rise and shine campers, and don't forget your booties because it's cold out there today.) and the one in that one episode of Gilmore Girls that they absolutely hated. I dunno, I just think it's a charming idea, and it solves my problem of finding a place to stay that's not trashy, but not super-expensive mcRitzville, without having to crash on anybodies couch. Or guest room. Now I'm kinda debating renting a car, because Enterprise rents to people under 25, but I think I'm gonna stick with the trains, what can I say? I like the trains.
