I love emusic because it forces me to pretend to broaden my horizons, since everything I know I already like is not there. Like today, when I got two tracks off of this album:
Pickin' on U2, a bluegrass tribute to U2 Otherwise, I think of emusic kind of like a charity, where I give them $10 a month out of appreciation that they only sell music from artists too poor to pay their labels' RIAA memberships. Joanna Newsom, whom I was introduced to as the punchline of a joke, is their top selling album right now, and Biz Markie has one in the top 100 somewhere, right below Ton Loc.
In other news, The Decemberists latest album was published by Capitol records. They're now more dead to me . . . than The Decemberists' dead mother. The rest of their back catalog could be purchased for < $0.25 a song on emusic.
P.S. DRM IS THE DEVIL
