Holy shit!
Well, I finally did it. I got rid of the Mark VIII! Nothing was wrong with it, but it'd been 3.5 years and was definitely time to move on to something new. In true Eric fashion, I didn't cheap out on anything and I picked up a 2008 Mustang GT! It's brand new (I picked it up from the dealership on Friday) and has every available option except for the HID headlights and the navigation system--though I may buy the HID enclosures from Ford Parts and put them in instead, since I loved the HIDs on the Lincoln.
So, here's the breakdown:
-300-hp, 320lb.ft. torque 4.6L V8
-5 speed Tremec TR3650 transmission w/short throw shifter, rear-wheel drive
-Dual exhaust
-Vista Blue Metallic w/ Charcoal interior
-Leather sport seats, heated driver & passenger seats
-500 watt Shaker 500 audio system, w/ 6-disc in-dash CD changer, MP3 CD capability, and auxiliary input for iPod
-Interior Upgrade Package w/ satin aluminum dash panel & MyColor custom color gauges
-17 in. polished aluminum wheels w/ 235ZR17 Z-rated tires
-Traction control & 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes
-Upgraded 3.55 ratio limited-slip rear axle
Sticker: $29,150
I bought it with the Ford employee A-plan, however, which put it at $26,100 or so. Put a good chunk of change down, and got the rest financed at 3.9% APR. It's stupid-fast, and I'm absolutely satisfied. No buyer's remorse here! It is so great to have a brand new car again!
