my fish

I bought three fish a couple days ago. Two were fantail goldfish and one was an algae eater. I put them in my tank and they seemed to be fine. By after a day the small goldfish started acting funny. He wouldn't swim...he would just float at the top....on his side. But when you would tap the glass he would swim off and go do something else. Well after a while he wouldn't react to me tapping on the glass. That's when I knew he was going to die. It was just a matter of time. While this is going on the algae eater kept hiding underneath the ceramic snail I have in the tank. Finally I got kinda worried so I moved the snail and he swam away. Yesterday the goldfish died. I feel bad because two of the three fish are acting funny just from being in my tank. That's when my brother and I decided to clean the tank. I bought the algae eater so he could clean the tank but it was the tank that was killing him! There were a couple times when we were certain the algae eater was dead. He was laying on his back on the bottom of the tank. The goldfish died at the same time as this so I was getting ready to scoop him up when he flipped over and swam away...scaring the shit outta me. "Look he's not dead!!!" "Hmm...maybe he was just sleeping...on his back...and inside out." So we cleaned the tank and the algae eater seems to be doing better. Maybe it was just too dirty for the new fish. (I admit the tank was pretty damn filthy...I should clean it out again today...)
I hope the algae eater doesn't hate me after this...I hope he survives!!

By the way, upside-down catfish are the coolest things ever!!!!!!! I'm in the computer lab right now but I'll post a picture of one later today.
