It's good to be on vacation
I owe so many people emails and so many people LJ responses and so many people (who aren't reading this) phone calls and I have writing to do and knitting to do and job-applying to do and RELAXING to do because this week is my vacation and I mean to soak it all in because I NEED a break right now, and above all else right now I'm exhausted and must go sleep.
But OH. My. GAWD.
OHMIGAWD YOU GUYS SOUTH PARK IS GOING TO SPOOF "TWILIGHT."
Mum and I were watching the Daily Show/Colbert Report repeat tonight on Comedy Central, and when the SP preview came on I SCREAMED. Like, an ear-splitting shriek that sent the dog leaping off of the couch. (Didn't phase Mum, though; she's pretty used to me by now.)
Seriously -- the only way I could be happier right now is if they finally sucked it up and Riffed Titantic. For now, however, this will do NICELY.
SERIOUSLY NOW, THIS IS MADE OF SO MUCH WIN I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO _DO_. :D :D :D

USA Sets End Date for 'Monk'
And we're getting one more season first! The rumor had been that either this season (season seven) or next season would be the last, and I was really hoping said rumor would actually prove true -- yes, really! "Monk" is my favorite telly show* and longest-running current obsession, and it's still been coming up with some awesome, awesomely-moving episodes (Mr. Monk Buys a House, anyone??), and ... and it's time to end it. The show is still good. ALWAYS find an end for your Story while it's still good. Don't pull a "Becker" and wait until you've beaten all life out of it before allowing it to limp over the bitter finish line.
I had half been hoping that this season would be the final season, because I HAVE WAITED SEVEN YEARS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO TRUDY AND I NEED TO KNOW, DAMMIT. But not only am I very, _very_ pleased to find out that we get one more season, one more year, with Monk, but ... it just would have been wrong to go out on an odd-numbered season, y'know? Besides, I could use one more year with new Adrian. :)
But then -- they'll bring the Story to an end. Which is good, because it's time. AND WE. WILL KNOW. WHAT HAPPENED. _TO TRUDY_.
And ... no more Googling Monk, Tony Shalhoub, or anything remotely related to USA for the next year and a half. I'm trying to avoid Who spoilers, and I'm actively frightened of Pirates 4 spoilers ... but end-of-Monk spoilers would break my heart. So on to a good eighteen months of CONSTANT VIGILANCE!
But, the point is: between that new and South Park (OHMIGAWD SOUTH PARK HOW CAN I WAIT UNTIL _WEDNESDAY_) ... it's a great start to a week's vacation. :)
(Now, if I can just quit playing with "Who" Prom song recordings** on YouTube tomorrow and actually GET SOME WRITING DONE ... or at least spend a nice day on the couch watching telly. But today was a Day of Procrastination, from writing AND from vacationing, so tomorrow that must be remedied.)
